Einar is Born

Suki foaled on the morning of April 16th without us knowing.  After two nights of sleeplessness, it seems I couldn't stay awake any longer.  When I awoke to check on Suki at 5 a.m., I found a very large black and white colt had already graced us with his presence.  Unfortunately, Suki had acquired an ascending placental infection sometime before birth, and Einar was going downhill quickly.  We rushed them both to Anoka Equine where he was diagnosed with an infection as well as failure of passive transfer.  Both Suki and Einar were treated appropriately by Anoka's excellent staff and were ready to be discharged home after only a few days.  From day one, Einar's personality has been one of which I have never met before.  It is that personality that has made Chris and I decide that we cannot part with him.  He is incredibly dear to our hearts.
